The Internet is now an invaluable resource for learning for all our pupils. It is a fantastic place overflowing with knowledge, games and communities of people. Pupils at Horsforth Newlaithes Primary School spend a great deal of time using the internet at school and at home. It is used across the curriculum both for researching information and a source of digital learning materials. Using the Internet for learning is now a part of the Computing Curriculum (Sept 2014)
It is important that pupils learn how to be safe when browsing online and becoming members of online communities. One way to make browsing the internet safer at home is to use a 'safe search' search engines such as http://www.safesearchkids.com
Visit www.safekids.co.uk for more tips on 'safe search' search engines.
We also encourage parents to set up filtering on their home internet. To learn how to do this for the major providers of internet please click the text below.
